It is never too late to start improving your pelvic floor function. If you yourself have any symptoms or pelvic floor problems, or you know someone who does, please don’t suffer in silence and take the steps to help yourself now. If you don’t have any symptoms, follow the advice anyway for prevention of problems.
Symptoms of pelvic floor problems include:
✓ Accidental loss of bladder or bowel control or unable to control when you need to go to the toilet
✓ Leaking of urine when exercising, laughing, coughing or sneezing
✓ Vaginal discomfort, sensation of heaviness or dragging in your lower tummy/pelvis/vagina
✓ Painful sex and/or difficulty inserting a tampon
